Keeping it real online resourcesOnline Resources to Keep You Focused and On Track with T School

Use the power of technology to help you be accountable and succeed in T School!  The following resources are our favorite online tools and the ones we have chosen to use in our T School community.

If you have other apps that you prefer to use, that’s cool too.  The important thing is to use them to help you remain accountable to your T School fat loss and fitness goals.

T School FBFirst Step:  Join our Private Facebook Community.

Even if you’re not a fan of Facebook, I highly recommend you create a private profile if only to take advantage of the fabulous resources and community that is available to you via T School.

This is a private page where you will find support, education, and the motivation you need to succeed.

When you enroll in T School, Tina will send you a friend request.  Once you accept that, we can add you to this private community.  We can’t really stress how important this part of the program will be to you!

Step Two:  Connect to Pinterest – Your recipe for Success

If you’ve never visited Pinterest, you are in for a huge treat!   This is a great way to recharge and refocus.  For T School we’re using Pinterest as a tool to share recipes as they are easier to organize and locate than in Facebook.

Step Three :  Keep  a Food Journal on My Fitness Pal

MyFitnessPal covers the entire range allowing you to put restaurant foods, ingredients, supplements, and anything else you can imagine that contains food.

We know that having a support group is key to losing weight, and keeping it off.  Working together with your T School Coaches and team mates, you’ll be able to track your progress and motivate each other towards success!

Please remember that keeping a food journal, either by hand or online is not optional- it’s essential to your fat loss success!

Step Four:  Track your Fitness with FitBit

We have chosen the Fitbit as our T School tracker as it is widely available (online or at Costco) and easy to use.   The FitBit comes in many styles and price ranges but all show your daily stats, distance traveled, calories burned, steps taken.

You can toggle between the various displays and sync with a smartphone application or through a wireless dongle that plugs into a computer. Each time the device comes close to the dongle, it syncs the data it has collected in the band with the software on the computer. Like many wireless activity trackers, the Fitbit comes with software that spins activity data into pretty charts and graphics that show you trends in your daily behavior.

The Fitbit’s can cost between $50 and $130, depending on the model you buy.  The introductory level of software is free.
In addition to the custom, personal data infographics, it also lets you track your sleep habits, and interfaces with My Fitness Pal to supply a comprehensive snap shot of your nutrition and exercise habits.

And because we believe success is best done together, we’ve set up a T School Fitbit community. The software also lets you connect with your Facebook friends if you choose, so going public and being accountable has never been easier. If you want extra health guidance or coaching from Fitbit- there is a Premium software option that costs about $50 a year.
