I just received this AWSOME picture from Mary Buchanan who was the winner of our last Pilates Fat Loss Formula contest.

She was judged the winner by our team of judges because she not only had an amazing physical transformation, she had an emotional shift as well, one that has spurred Mary on to accomplish other goals in her life, like climbing Camelback Mountain in Arizona!  As our winner, she won a trip to anywhere she wanted to celebrate her accomplishment!

” I made it to the top of Camelback Mtn. Yea!! That makes two peaks I’ve reached this year.

WHAT MARY SAYS ABOUT HER EXPERIENCE AT PILATES 1901!














“I remember the day that I stopped caring for myself. It was May 1st, 1998. I remember this day because that was the day I got a phone call that started a chain of events which made me need to care for others more than myself, or so I thought.

After only 6 months of putting myself second to a family crisis, I gained 25 pounds. I had gained so much that I went to a doctor to see why. He told me that because I had gone through so much stress my body’s metabolism kind of just shut down. But guess what, I didn’t care. It didn’t seem that important to me.

Then as things seemed to slow down a little I had another change in my life. I became a grandmother. Once again I became a caregiver. My daughter and husband needed to work so I took care of my grand baby everyday. I loved it but once again I put on more weight.

It wasn’t until the end of last summer when I was talking to my sister in law that it truly hit me what I had done to myself. She is in horrible shape. I was trying to tell her to at least get out and walk, to do something to help herself.

She made excuses why she couldn’t and said to me that we shouldn’t care about it because you couldn’t get into shape after the age of 55 anyway. (Oh, did I mention that I am older than that). I told her that wasn’t true. We argued about that awhile and I told her “to just watch me”… Thus started my online search for some sort of workout center or program that would help me prove her wrong.

First I went to 24 Hour Fitness. I tried to work out on my own but really had no clue what I was doing. I wasn’t getting very far and was starting to think it might time to throw in the towel.

Then I saw an advertisement pop up on my computer for the Pilates 1901 PFF program.  I decided I had nothing to lose by going to their meeting to learn more about the program. Wow, when they showed me that “thing” that was supposed to represent 5 pounds of fat I was so grossed out. I couldn’t believe that I had about 6 of those on my body I needed to get rid of. They talked about the program and how you had your own personal trainer that would help you every week. They told us how they would help you with not only your workout but your diet and your mental and physical health. I’m not sold too easily but they had me. I needed to try something and I was hoping that this was it.

I assumed that I would go to workouts around 3 times a week and I would hear a “keep it up” every once in awhile but boy was I wrong! The Pilates Fat Loss coaches waste no time in making sure you know exactly what you need to do. They actually give you every tool you need to be a success. You have a trainer to guide you.

You have classes that are small so they actually monitor you to make sure you are doing the exercises right to get the most out of your time. They tell you not only how many calories to intake but also what kind of calories. They have workshops to show you everything from how to shop for food to how to cope with the stress of the holidays. They have cardio machines and workouts. I have felt so encouraged through this whole process. It’s really helped me keep motivated. There was a bonus to this whole thing, I have met some really great people which makes going to work out fun.

So now here I am 12 years later. I feel that I am only half of the way to where I need to be, but I have more than reached my goals for this 3 months. My reason for doing this have totally changed. I now am doing it for me. I feel better in a lot of ways. I feel younger. I feel more energetic. I feel happier. I like me more.”
